Di tanah yang subur dengan hujan dan gema ini, berdirilah sebuah jambatan yang tidak kelihatan.
Ia merentasi benua dan menelusuri kesedaran; di kedua-dua hujungnya, lahir bunyi-bunyi baharu yang tidak pernah berhenti.
Dalam gema dunia, bunyi tidak mengenal sempadan—
Ia mengalir melalui muara sungai dan rimba tropika; bersemadi dalam ingatan dan tersingkap di hadapan mata,
bergema di antara setiap nafas asal-usul manusia.
Dunia terus berubah bentuknya.
Festival Muzik Kontemporari SMCC “SOUNDBRIDGE” kali ke-7 menjemput anda untuk merantau di jalan-jalan kereta api lama Nanyang dan pasar tempatan di Kluang, mengunjungi open studio selama tiga Hari Studio dibuka & Konsert Secara Langsung oleh artis Kluang berpangkalan di Singapura, Chankerk, serta menyertai pertemuan muzik menampilkan pemain selo China Yi Zhou (Perancis) dan penyelidik lapangan “SoundBridge” Ying Jiao, Yixuan Cong dan Tian Wang, yang mempersembahkan persembahan spontan — tenunan dialog antara tradisi, ekspresi kontemporari dan karya seni itu sendiri.
Tahun ini festival menghimpunkan artis dan karya dari Malaysia, China, Singapura, Thailand, Filipina, Belgium, Jerman, Amerika Syarikat dan Jepun — mempersembahkan dua belas konsert yang menggabungkan avant-garde dan klasik, empat kelas induk instrumental, bengkel Kecak “nyanyian monyet” dari Bali, serta forum silang-disiplin yang menyingkap perjalanan dan inspirasi kreatif para artis.
Kita berhimpun di bandar kecil Kluang untuk menzahirkan kepercayaan teras SOUNDBRIDGE:
Menghormati tradisi tanpa gentar pada konvensi;
Membiarkan Timur dan Barat hidup seiring dalam harmoni —
di mana alam, seni, falsafah, cerita rakyat dan estetika bernafas sebagai satu kesatuan.
Dalam Konsert Pembukaan “Tradisi dan Inovasi”, anda akan terlebih dahulu menyaksikan semangat suci ansambel gamelan Semara Ratih dari Bali, Indonesia, dengan perarakan pembukaan klasik yang mengisi udara dengan rentak gong dan gendang yang bersilang — upacara purba kepulauan yang dilahirkan semula melalui bunyi.
Kami amat berbesar hati menyambut YAM Tunku Zain Al-‘Abidin ibni Tuanku Muhriz, Penaung Society of Malaysian Composers Collective (SMCC), bersama Tengku Irfan, pianis dan konduktor muda kebanggaan negara, mempersembahkan karya empat tangan Lutosławski — satu pertemuan istimewa antara kemuliaan dan seni.
Pemusik Kenyah dari Sarawak, Salomon Gau, tampil dengan petikan sape, membawa pendengar menyelam ke dalam gema rimba Borneo — nadi rakyat dan alamnya.
Masih dalam kehangatan gong Kebyar oleh ansambel Semara Ratih, pianis virtuoso Belgium Jan Michiels menyingkap dunia misteri Piano Études karya György Ligeti — di mana rentak pantas dan bunyi berlogam menyalakan pertarungan sengit antara “jari” dan “fikiran.” Bunyi piano berputar di antara kekunci hitam dan putih, berpusing tanpa henti di lorong tanpa batas.
Bahagian pertama pentas mitologi Bali mencapai kemuncaknya apabila Hanuman, Raja Monyet, muncul — nyanyian Kecak bersatu dengan gema gamelan, sementara bayangan Wayang Kulit berayun dalam cahaya api. Dalang Jawa I Made Christian Wiranata Rediana menggerakkan watak-watak kulit, manakala penari Zhu Shiya dan kumpulannya menzahirkan transformasi manusia, haiwan dan dewa melalui gerak dan nyala api.
Satu tiupan seruling — cahaya bulan mengalir seperti air. Ensemble Studio C, dalam susunan Wang Zhongshan The Moon Rises High, melukis sungai perak dan embun beku di gulungan lukisan kuno China, menyingkap keluasan langit malam yang paling tenang.
Soprano Lini Gong, bersama Ensemble Studio C dan konduktor Ya-ou Xie, mempersembahkan tayangan perdana dunia karya komposer China Liu Jialin Three Variations on ‘Farewell at Yangguan’.
Instrumen Barat dan China bersatu, mentafsir semula motif kuno “patah tangkai willow” menjadi ratapan tiga lapis tentang perpisahan dan kenangan — gema perpisahan di penghujung serambi panjang.
Seterusnya, Steppe Wind Chamber Ensemble dari Mongolia Dalam, China mempersembahkan tayangan perdana di Malaysia karya komposer Bolor, Echoes of Horqin, memperdengarkan angin dan pasir dari padang luas Mongolia Dalam.
Komposer muda dan inovator handpan dari China, Zhang Tonfen, bergabung dengan Ensemble Studio C dan penari Zhu Shiya dalam tayangan perdana dunia Light Snow — sebuah renungan tentang hembusan pertama kesejukan musim sejuk, di mana irama dan gerak menjejaki pusingan musim.
Dalam kemuncak, biola Saori Nakazawa bersama Ensemble Studio C di bawah pimpinan Tengku Irfan membawakan adaptasi komposer muda Malaysia Wong Kok Leong, Interwoven Four Seasons — dialog silang Timur dan Barat, di mana Musim Bunga, Panas, Luruh dan Dingin mekar serentak: sebuah taman masa merentasi tiga abad dan dua hemisfera, menutup malam dengan kesatuan yang gemilang.
Siri Konsert Induk festival ini menonjolkan dua komposer agung Asia: Prof. Ramon Santos, Artis Negara Filipina, dan Prof. Gao Weijie, maestro komposisi terkemuka China. Dalam Echo II, Santos menelusuri gema hidup tradisi Nanguan di celah sejarahnya; manakala kutiyapi (Dialogues for Lute) menzahirkan suara halus alat dua tali Maguindanao di Mindanao — dialog rentas jarak dan masa.
Autumn Fields karya Gao Weijie menggambarkan keharmonian antara langit dan bumi, manakala Shao II menghidupkan semula gema luhur muzik upacara kuno. Bersama, potret miniatur ini menjadi jambatan dua maestro merentas milenium Timur dan Barat.
Pemusik muda dari Ensemble Studio C dan Burn Duo menyalakan percikan improvisasi yang mencipta suara baharu Malaysia. Sebagai platform rentas sempadan, ansambel ini menghimpunkan komposer muda Asia dalam satu denyutan bersama yang bergema merentasi bandar dan budaya.
Pan Pacific Wind Quintet dari Amerika Syarikat membawa “Southern Winds Across Southeast Asia”, meraikan landskap bunyi serantau yang penuh warna.
Ya-ou Xie dan Yashuangzi Xie, duo piano Xie Sisters, memulakan perjalanan bercahaya “From Bach to Asian Composers – Encounters Across Time and Space”.
Pianis virtuoso Belgium Prof. Jan Michiels mengadakan pertemuan menarik antara maestro Hungary dan suara baharu Asia.
Soprano Gong Lini, kini berpangkalan di Jerman, bersama pianis Ya-ou Xie, mempersembahkan harmoni cakerawala melalui kekunci hitam dan putih.
Konsert Penutup “Traditions and Beyond” mencapai kemuncak megah — edisi Wayang Kulit bagi The Rite of Spring — hasil kerjasama Xie Sisters Piano Duo, ahli perkusi Ensemble Studio C, dan dalang I Made Christian Wiranata Rediana.
Dalam babak terakhir, ansambel Semara Ratih dari Bali, Hanuman Sang Raja Putih, dan penari Zhu Shiya bersatu dalam gabungan gemilang nyanyian Kecak, tarian, dan pancaran visual — menyalakan gugusan tayangan perdana dunia yang berapi dengan semangat ciptaan baharu.
Dua belas konsert ini membentuk satu kitaran — seperti ular menggigit ekornya sendiri — setiap satunya berakar pada budaya tempatan, setiap satunya bergema dengan struktur ritual purba The Rite of Spring oleh Stravinsky: pengorbanan dan kelahiran semula, buas dan suci wujud bersama.
Para seniman kontemporari “kembali” ke ritual itu, melukis dengan apinya totem zaman kita.

— A Resonant Bridge of Asia’s Most Exquisite Sounds
On this land of rain and resonance, there stands an invisible bridge.
It spans continents and traverses consciousness; at both ends, new sounds are constantly being born.
In the world’s reverberations, sound knows no borders—
It flows through river mouths and rainforests; it dwells deep in memory and unfolds before your eyes,
Echoing between every primal breath of humankind.
The world keeps reshaping itself.
The 7th SMCC “SOUNDBRIDGE” Contemporary Music Festival invites you to wander through the old Nanyang railway streets and local markets of Kluang, to visit 3 days’ open studio of Singapore-based Kluang artist Chankerk, and to join a musical encounter featuring Chinese cellist Yi Zhou (France) and “SoundBridge” field researchers Ying Jiao, Yixuan Cong, and Tian Wang, whose spontaneous performances weave dialogues between tradition, contemporary expression, and the artworks themselves. This year’s festival gathers artists and works from Malaysia, China, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Belgium, Germany, the United States, and Japan, presenting twelve distinctive concerts where the avant-garde meets the classical, four instrumental masterclasses, a Balinese Kecak “monkey chant” workshop, and cross-disciplinary panels sharing the artists’ creative journeys and inspirations.
We come together in the small town of Kluang to express the core belief of SOUNDBRIDGE:

Where nature, art, philosophy, folklore, and aesthetics breathe as one.
In the Opening Concert ‘Tradition and Innovation,’ you will first experience you will first encounter the sacred vitality of the Semara Ratih Gamelan Ensemble from Bali Indonesia, whose classical opening procession fills the air with the interwoven rhythms of gongs and drums—an ancient island ritual reborn in sound. We are honored to welcome YAM Tunku Zain Al-‘Abidin ibni Tuanku Muhriz, Patron of the Society of Malaysian Composers Collective, and Tengku Irfan, the nation’s prodigious pianist and conductor, performing together a four-hand rendition of Lutosławski’s music — a rare confluence of nobility and artistry. Sarawak’s Kenyah musician Salomon Gau performs on the sape lute, guiding listeners into the deep echo of the Bornean rainforest—the heartbeat of its people and landscape.
Still immersed in the blazing Kebyar gongs of the Semara Ratih Gamelan Ensemble, Belgian piano virtuoso Jan Michiels will unveil the mysterious realm of György Ligeti’s Piano Études —where lightning-fast rhythms and metallic sonorities ignite an extreme duel between “fingers” and “mind.” The piano’s sound rises between the black and white keys, spiralling endlessly through an infinite corridor. The first half of the Bali mythological stage reaches its climax as Hanuman, the Monkey King, leaps forth —the Kecak “monkey chant” intertwines with gamelan resonance, and Wayang Kulit shadow puppets sway in the flicker of firelight. Javanese puppeteer I Made Christian Wiranata Rediana manipulates the leather figures puppets, while dancer Zhu Shiya and her ensemble narrate, embody the transformations of man, beast, and deity through movement and flame.
A single flute breathes — moonlight flows like water. Ensemble Studio C, in Wang Zhongshan’s arrangement of The Moon Rises High, paints the silver river and drifting frost of an ancient Chinese scroll, unfolding before you the night sky’s most tranquil expanse. Soprano Lini Gong, joined by Ensemble Studio C and conductor Ya-ou Xie, gives the world premiere of Chinese composer Liu Jialin’s Three Variations on ‘Farewell at Yangguan’. Western and Chinese instruments intertwine, transforming the ancient motif of “willow-breaking” into a triple lament of parting and remembrance—an echo of farewell at the long pavilion’s end. Next, Steppe Wind Chamber Ensemble from Inner Mongolia, China performs the Malaysian premiere of Chinese composer Bolor‘s Echoes of Horqin, allowing you to hear the winds and sands of Inner Mongolia’s vast plains. Emerging composer and handpan innovator Zhang Tonfen from China joins Ensemble Studio C and dancer Shiya Zhu for the world premiere of Light Snow—a meditation on the first breath of winter’s chill, where rhythm and motion trace the turning of seasons. In the finale, Saori Nakazawa’s violin ascends through Ensemble Studio C under the baton of Tengku Irfan, into young composer Wong Kok Leong’s adaptation of Vivaldi’s Interwoven Four Seasons —a displaced dialogue between East and West, where Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter bloom at once: a time-garden spanning three centuries and two hemispheres, closing the night in radiant unity. The festival’s Master Concert Series highlights two towering Asian composers: — Prof. Ramon Santos, National Artist of the Philippines, and Prof. Gao Weijie, one of China’s most respected masters of composition. In Echo II, Santos traces the living resonance of the Nanguan tradition amid its historical fractures; while kutiyapi (Dialogues for Lute) evokes the delicate voice of the two-string lute of the Maguindanao people in Mindanao — a conversation across distance and time. Gao Weijie’s Autumn Fields mirrors the tranquil harmony between heaven and earth, while Shao II revives the sublime echoes of ancient ritual music. Together, these miniature portraits of two masters crossing a millennium of East and West.
The young musicians of Ensemble Studio C and the Burn Duo ignite sparks of improvisation that illuminate new Malaysian voices. As a cross-border platform, the ensemble gathers emerging Asian composers into one shared pulse, resonating across cities and cultures. The Pan Pacific Wind Quintet from the United States brings “Southern Winds Across Southeast Asia,” a vibrant celebration of regional soundscapes. Ya-ou Xie and Yashuangzi Xie, the Xie Sisters Piano Duo, embark on a luminous journey where “From Bach to Asian Composers – Encounters Across Time and Space”. Belgian piano virtuoso Prof. Jan Michiels stages a thrilling encounter between the Hungarian masters and Asia’s rising voices. Soprano Gong Lini, now based in Germany, joins pianist Ya-ou Xie to unveil celestial harmonies through the black and white keys.
The closing concert “Traditions and Beyond” culminates in a grand finale — a Shadow Play Edition of The Rite of Spring — jointly presented by the Xie Sisters Piano Duo, the percussionists of Ensemble Studio C, and puppeteer I Made Christian Wiranata Rediana. In the final act, Bali’s Semara Ratih Ensemble, the White Monkey King Hanuman, and dancer Shiya Zhu unite in an electrifying fusion of Kecak chant, dance, and visual projection, igniting a constellation of world premieres that blaze with new creative fire.
Twelve concerts form a cycle—a serpent biting its own tail—each linked by local culture, each echoing the primal ritual structure of Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring: sacrifice and renewal, the savage and the sacred coexisting. Contemporary artists “return” to the rite, painting with its fire the totem of our time.

第七届 SMCC“音桥”当代音乐节,邀请您走进小镇居銮独具风貌的老南洋铁道老街巷子市集,随居銮旅居新加坡艺术家郑常格的三天“开放工作室”,参与一场由中国旅法大提琴家周易,矫英、丛亦玄、王田三位音桥采风的音乐家,在当代音乐的快闪表演中与艺术作品对话。本届音乐节邀请来自马来西亚、中国、新加坡、泰国、菲律宾、比利时、德国、美国、日本等地的艺术家与音乐作品,共呈献十二场主题鲜明、先锋与古典并存的音乐会,四场器乐大师班、巴厘岛猴唱凯查克工作坊与跨界艺术专题座谈,分享艺术家们珍贵的创作经验与灵感。

一声箫起,月色如水, Studio C 乐团在王中山编配的《月儿高》中,描摹中国古画里的银汉与飞霜,为您铺展夜空最静穆的卷轴。女高音龚丽妮将携手Studio C 乐团与指挥谢亚鸥,世界首演劉家麟新作《阳关三叠》。中西方乐器交汇成 “折柳” 古意,一曲三叹,唱尽长亭外、古道边的离愁与珍重。内蒙古的风马室内乐团接棒,带来包乐尔《听见科尔沁》的马来西亚首演,让您 “听” 到内蒙古的季风与沙响。青年作曲家、手碟新锐张彤芬与Studio C 乐团、舞者朱诗雅共同呈现《小雪》世界首演,带您聆听节气更替间的第一缕清寒。终章,中澤沙央里的小提琴在Studio C乐团与指挥Tengku Irfan的托举下,飞入青年作曲家黄競樑为Studio C 乐团而作的《四季交织》——中西方乐器错位对话,春夏秋冬同时盛放:一场跨越三百年、融合东西半球的时间花园,在此绚烂收官。
本届音乐节的两场“大师音乐会系列”聚焦两位亚洲重量级作曲家——菲律宾国家艺术家 Ramon Santos教授与中国当代作曲名师高为杰教授。
Ramon Santos的《回响 II》追寻南管传统在历史裂变后的当代共鸣;《琴话》以棉兰老岛马京达瑙族的二弦鲁特琴声,呼唤遥远而未泯的声音记忆。高为杰的《秋野》映照天人合一的宁静境界,《韶 II》复现远古圣音之美。双大师的迷你肖像音乐会,跨越东西千年的时空对话。
年轻的 Studio C乐团乐手与燃烧二重奏的即兴火花点亮马来西亚新声;Studio C乐团引领亚洲青年作曲家跨域集结,展现身处不同城市的创作者在当下脉搏中的同频共振。来自美国的泛太平洋木管五重奏 带来南风吹遍东南亚的独特篇章;谢亚鸥与谢亚双子的双姊黑白钢琴二重奏在“从巴赫到亚洲作曲家–跨越时空的邂逅”的旅程中闪耀;比利时钢琴大师Jan Michiels 教授呈献匈牙利大师的硬核对决与亚洲新锐之声;旅德女高音 龚丽妮 携钢琴家谢亚鸥于黑白键间绽放天籁。
闭幕音乐会“传统与未来无界” 之压轴大戏由双姊黑白钢琴二重奏、Studio C乐团打击乐家与操偶师 I Made Christian Wiranata Rediana 联手呈献——《春之祭》皮影戏版!终章以巴厘岛 Semara Ratih 乐团,白猴王 Hanuman,舞者朱诗雅共舞凯查克与视觉投影,燃起众多世界首演之新火。
十二场音乐会,仿佛一个鱼咬尾的轮回,由在地文化串联,印证了俄罗斯大师Stravinsky《春之祭》般的原始仪式框架:献祭与轮回,野蛮与神圣并存。当代艺术家“回到” 春之祭,以它的烈焰绘出属于我们时代的图腾。
